My 2019 style wishlist

JANUARY 09, 2019

Hello everyone! It's been quite a while since my last post here on the blog, I have managed to stay a little more committed to my IG page but things have been awfully busy in December. I am now a German teacher in a bilingual class - I am a French teacher but they needed someone so badly that I applied. (It would be too long to explain how French education system works, but this is perfectly normal.) This is such an interesting experience, although it means quite a lot of work. German is my second language - English being my third - but I still need to work on specific vocabulary and although I'm a trained teacher, teaching kids a foreign language in a foreign language is pretty different. I've missed blogging quite a lot! I recently had a look on many inspirational websites and retail sites and have been thinking about my personal style. To be honest, I sometimes feel a bit bored with it. I find it a little too classic or girlish, I would love to make it a little more modern - although I'm not really an athleisure and minimalist fan. I think sleek pieces and interesting cuts may add something to my usual outfit combinations that mostly focus on textures. Here are the pieces I'm coveting in early 2019!

Texture : Mock croc'
Chloé via Net à Porter

I really got into faux crocodile textures lately, I think they add some vintage yet tough feel to any outfit. I like it better on bags with a more modern shape to avoid that "borrowed from grandma" idea!

Shoes : White ankle boots

Zara

I am such a sucker for ankle boots in general, I have a few black pairs that I wear to death but as spring season starts, I think a white pair could look nice with flora dresses until I could skip them for sandals and espadrilles.

Bag : Cylinder shapes

Bucket bags have been huge for quite a long time now, and this year I would like a more structured version than the classic ones with a knot narrowing the top : a sleek cylinder shape with a zip closure.

Jewels : Baroque pearls

Just as seashells have been 2018' favorite trend, baroque/irregular pearls are bound to be everywhere this year and I love it!

Print : Toile de jouy

Thanks to Dior cruise collection, Toile de Jouy has once again to be a it-print, to my great enthusiasm! I think this is one of the prettiest prints of all times. This time tough, I will stay away from doll-like dresses or bigger pieces that would make me feel like covered in tapestry and keep it to small accessories like twillies and shoes.

Accessory : hair clips

The bigger the better! Think rhinestones, tortoise shell, pearls... Hair clips are a really nice and easy way to wear jewels, just take a hair strand and clip it on the side with more than one piece!

And you, which trend will be your favorite for the upcoming year?
